Video “Mantra, Meditation and Faith” by Swami Satchidananda

When: Wed, May 14, 7:30pm – 9:00pm

Where: Friends Meeting of Richmond, Kensington Avenue, Richmond, VA, United States (map)
Description:  At the beginning of this satsang, Sri Gurudev Swami Satchidananda is asked a question about how to use a mantra. This leads him into a discourse on how to develop a relationship with one’s mantra. He explains how to work with the mantra, the sound vibration and to utilize visualization to enhance one’s meditation. He stresses the importance of sticking to one technique: “The tendency of the mind is to change constantly. So, when you select something, stick to that.”

Sri Gurudev also speaks, at length, about the role that faith plays in one’s spiritual practice and one’s life: “It is that one-pointed devotion and one- pointed mind that is going to bring you the benefit. So let not our intellect interfere in our spiritual practice.”
This DVD captures the spontaneity and energy of a public talk providing a beautiful opportunity to sit with Sri Gurudev and be guided by his vast wisdom.

Additional topics include:
• The Role of Intellect in Self-Inquiry • Faith and Truth
• The Sage and the Hunter Parable • Karma Yoga vs. Meditation
• It’s All in God’s Hands
