ABOUT THE PROGRAM
For its 9th year the Integral Yoga®
Center of Richmond is proud to be offering the Integral
Yoga® Teacher Training Certification Program for 2007-2008.
The certification course meets the high standards
and hours required by the Yoga Alliance, the National Registry
of Yoga Teachers and Integral Yoga® International.
Students will also receive direct instruction from Yogaville
Teacher Training senior staff and other experts on Yoga.
The IYC, the first Yoga Center in Richmond to train yoga
teachers with the blessing of the Yoga Alliance, has trained
more than90 yoga teachers since 1999. The Integral Yoga
Center or Richmond is an affiliate of the International
Integral Yoga Institutes with headquarters in Satchidananda
Ashram, Yogaville. Its founder and spiritual leader, Sri
Swami Satchidananda, was invited to came to the US in the
70's to share his vision of Peace and Harmony for all people,
coining the motto: "Truth is One, Paths are Many".
He taught that the Goal of Yoga was to have a "Easeful
Body, a Peaceful Mind and a Useful Life". His teachings,
which were passed on to him by his Yoga Master Sri Swami
Sivananda of Rishikesh, are at the core of our training,
as well as the ancient scriptures of yoga: "The Yoga
Sutras of Patanjali".
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory attendance is required
for everything that is listed in the “Included With
Tuition” section listed below. Students must
take monthly quizzes, mid-term and final written exams and
a Qualification Exam on teaching an Integral yoga class
to beginner students. Students must also attend a
four day-three night (Thursday-Sunday) overnight retreat
(January 17-20) as well as a full Saturday at the end of
the course for graduation at Yogaville.

PREREQUISITES
Students should have a regular
Hatha Yoga and Meditation practice. Additionally, students
should attend at least one 6-8-week Integral Yoga®
Beginners Class prior to the beginning of the training.
Students may attend an Informational Meeting or
request an appointment for a personal interview to obtain
additional information and clarification of program requirements.

TEACHER CREDENTIALS
Nora Vimala Pozzi, E-RYT 500, PRYT,
Reiki Master, is the Director of Integral Yoga® Center
of Richmond since 1993 and has been the Director of the
Richmond Integral Yoga® Teacher Training Program since
1999.. Nora is certified in Advanced Hatha Yoga,
Yoga for Stress Management, Raja Yoga, Prenatal Yoga,
Yoga for Kids and Teens, Cardiac Yoga, and Yoga for People
with Cancer Teacher Training. Additionally, she
has attended the Jon Kabat-Zinns Mindfulness Based
Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) and is a Phoenix Rising
Yoga Therapist with a current practice in Richmond. Nora
has been a speaker and presenter at many yoga conferences
and various public and private organizations. She also
teaches at other yoga centers in USA as well as abroad.
Additional instruction will be provided by the Richmond
Integral Yoga® Teacher Training staff, Karuna Jane
Gordon and Kavita Kathy Sullivan, all registered with
the Yoga Alliance, and by Dr Bob Goldschmidt, MD, also
a certifiend Integral Yoga Instructor, who will be teaching
part of the Anatomy portion of the curriculum. The presenters
for the Yogaville Retreat, and the workshops and lectures
offered in Richmond, are senior disciples of Sri Swami
Satchidananda, with more than 30 years experience in the
teaching of yoga and known lecturers around the country
and abroad.
